(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has sent a representative to aid in the search for a missing I.U. student.
Bloomington Police say Lee Manning is providing needed expertise in the search operation based out of Smallwood Plaza.
That's where 20-year-old Lauren Spierer lived when she turned up missing Friday, June 3rd.
Bloomington Police Spokesman Capt. Joe Qualters says they're also reviewing video surveillance of the area where Spierer was last seen.
They hope to come up with descriptions on two vehicles that may somehow be connected to the Spierer case.
Qualters say the vehicles may not link them to actual suspects but simply persons of interest.
Also at Monday's press conference, Qualters responded to questions that Spierer may have been involved with cocaine when she vanished and perhaps friends know something.
Qualters says police are aware of the speculation and currently aren't ruling anything out.
Meantime, Spierer's parents say they'll continue to search and are seeking more volunteers in the search effort.
They also promoted a new website www.findlauren.com.
