(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police Tuesday began going door-to-door in the neighborhood where missing IU student Lauren Spierer was last seen.
The door-to-door search began eleven days after Spierer went missing and some neighbors in the area think police should have started right away.
Indiana University has established a $50,000 fund to help cover costs in the ongoing search.
The fund is being set up within the Indiana University Foundation.
It will be used to help with expenses such as feeding and housing searches, providing for various transportation needs and to offset the cost of equipment and material needs, including making photocopies of missing person flyers and maps used by volunteers helping in the search.
As many as 1,000 individuals a day, coming from the state and nation, have joined the search efforts which leave the downtown Bloomington area two and three times a day.
Bloomington Police have released a photo of truck caught on surveillance the night Spierer disappeared, which can be seen below, and are wanting to speak with the owner.
