(UNDATED) - One of the worst heat waves to grip Indiana in 70 years is causing several water utilities to ask their customers to cut back on usage.
Carmel utilities have suspended the softening of water to get it out to customers faster.
Residents may notice spots on items coming into contact with the water, including dishes, sinks and showers.
The utility also suggests people should only run dishwashers and washing machines when full, and adjust sprinkler heads to avoid water going on the street.
