(MARTINSVILLE, IN) - Police are investigating the shooting death of a 6-year-old boy in Morgan County Thursday night.
The boy was home with his 11-year-old brother.
When the brother went to the bathroom, he heard a "pop" and found the 6-year-old on the floor.
The brother ran outside to his neighbors and later called 911.
The victim was taken by medical helicopter to Riley Hospital in Indianapolis where he was later pronounced dead.
His parents were at the hospital at the time of his death.
Police do not suspect foul play and believe the shooting to be accidental.
The investigation is ongoing.
