(UNDATED) - Bedford will join a collaborative effort with four other cities.
Bedford mayor Shawna Girgis along with mayors from the cities of Franklin, Madison, North Vernon and Seymour will participate in a collaborative government program designed to support regional economic development by providing leaders with additional tools and resources.
City leaders will attend a series of workshops this fall that will provide an opportunity to hone city strategy and equip key employees with tools and training to successfully achieve strategic goals.
The program is sponsored in part by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
"The city of Bedford is pleased to participate in this innovative program in partnership with the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs and our peers," said Mayor Girgis.
