(ORLEANS) - Registered voters in Orleans gathered Tuesday night at the Orleans Christian Church’s Unity Hall for the town’s annual Republican Convention to nominate the Orleans Town Council and Orleans Clerk Republican candidates for the 2011 municipal election.
There were 140 total registered voters who participated in the convention. In the only contested race of the evening it was Steve Lantis with 121 votes to Tye Williams with 18 votes winning his party's nominee for the Ward 1 council seat.
Lantis will replace Janie Baker who opted to not to seek re-election.
