(BEDFORD) - New runway lighting will be added at the Virgil I. Grissom Municipal Airport.
Rick Rogers, president of the Lawrence County Board of Aviation Commissioners, said they received two bids Tuesday for installing the new lighting.
The commissioners received bids from Quad J and Michiana Contracting. The bids are being reviewed, Rogers added.
"The lights will completely refurbish the runway," Rogers said. "We will make a decision and award the contract at our next board on Sept. 13."
Runway 6-24 will receive the new lighting. The runway runs east and west. The airport located 3-miles east of Bedford, at 3213 Tunnelton Road, has two paved runways.
