(COLUMBUS, IN) - A two vehicle crash involving a semi and a sports car closed the southbound lanes of I-65 at the interchange of State Road 46 in Columbus Tuesday.
Columbus Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Joe Richardson said that when Crystal Danford of Commiskey tried to merge onto the interstate, she drove under the trailer being hauled by Darryl Rosen of Jacksonville, Illinois.
Danford was extracted from the crash and transported via life line helicopter to a hospital in Indianapolis.
Richardson says Danford's injuries were serious, but she was talking with rescuers shortly after the crash.
Rosen was not injured.
