(SPRINGVILLE) - Firefighters from four departments battled a blaze at Rogers Incorporate at Sieboldt Quarry early this morning.
Perry VFD Capt. Denny Godsey said the fire started around midnight when a piece of equipment caught ignited.
Because of the location of the fire, Marshal, Indiana Creek and Oolitic VFDs were called to assist .
Firefighters, dressed in full-gear, had to climb several flights of stairs, which is difficult, Godsey said.
"It was probably a three to four story climb," he said. "That made it difficult to fire to fight. We got it knocked down pretty quick and stayed on the scene to make sure all the hot spots were out."
The fire damaged equipment and the roof. Firefighters were on the scene until 4 a.m.
