(SPENCER) - Three Spencer teens were arrested after they attempted to rob a Circle K gas station Tuesday night.
18-year-old Justin L. Riley, was charged with conspiring to commit armed robbery, a class B felony and assisting a criminal, a class D felony.
18-year-old Michael S. Hill, was charged with armed robbery, a class B felony and conspiring to commit armed robbery, a class B felony.
A 17 year old juvenile was also arrested and charged with conspiring to commit armed robbery, a B-felony and assisting a criminal, a class D-felony.
Police received a 911 call around 12:30 a.m. from the store clerk at the Circle K gas station in Spencer saying he had just been held at gun point by a person demanding money. The store clerk said he refused to give the teen any money. The teen left the store on foot and finally jumped into a green Ford Explorer.
Police say a witness at the scene followed the Explorer to the Owen County Fair Grounds and then lost sight of the vehicle.
Indiana State Police Trooper Allen Deel saw the Explorer traveling north on Pottersville Road and stopped the vehicle, arrested all three teens.
Police found a handgun in the car, matching the description the clerk gave police.
The teens were taken to the Owen County Jail.
The Spencer Police Department is the investigating the incident and the Owen County Sheriff's Department is assisting.
