(BEDFORD) - Maple Park will have new playground equipment by early October.
Bedford Urban Enterprise Association will have a grand opening once the equipment is in place.
The BUEA was going to sell the park at 415 J Street because of financial circumstances, but one local child convinced the group to reconsider.
An anonymous donor gave a generous contribution toward keeping the park and it was donated to the city.
In July, BUEA received a matching grant from Lawrence County Community Foundation for $4,200 and General Motors promised $5,000 toward the playground equipment.
