(BLOOMINGTON) - Police are investigating the death of the Bloomington infant.
Parents told police they woke from their nap to find their 4-month-old baby not breathing.
Monroe County Coroner Nicole Meyer confirmed the baby was pronounced death at IU Health Bloomington Hospital Saturday afternoon. She is not releasing the name or sex of the infant, because the case is still under investigation.
Emergency response teams were called to an apartment at Southern Winds Inn on South Walnut Street, Saturday at 4:13 p.m. The caller told police the baby was not breathing.
Melissa and David Bruhn told police they put their baby down for a nap in it's crib around 2:15 p.m. Then they took a nap. They woke around 4 p.m. and found the baby not breathing and dialed 911.
When police arrived they began CPR but were unable to revive the infant.
An autopsy is scheduled today in Terre Haute, Meyer said.
