(BEDFORD) - New runway lighting will be added at the Virgil I. Grissom Municipal Airport.
Rick Rogers, president of the Lawrence County Board of Aviation Commissioners, said they received two bids for installing the new lighting.
The bid was awarded to Quad J at a meeting Tuesday.
The bids were as follows:
Quad J - $64,795.00
Michiana Contracting - $72,280.50
"The lights will completely refurbish the runway," Rogers said. "The placement of the lighting should start this month."
Runway 6-24 will receive the new lighting. The runway runs east and west. The airport located 3-miles east of Bedford, at 3213 Tunnelton Road, has two paved runways.
