(COLUMBUS) - 46-year-old Clifton Hamilton Cook Sr, of Columbus, will be brought back to Bartholomew County to face murder charges.
Cook waived extradition Tuesday morning during a court hearing in Florida, police said.
Cook was arrested Sunday in Miami as he was preparing to fly to Panama.
Cook is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend, 50-year-old Gary Joseph Brown of Greensburg.
Brown died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen Friday at Columbus Regional Hospital after being shot at his girlfriend's house on Balsam Court.
Authorities have not determined how they will bring Cook back from Miami.
Bartholomew County Sheriff Mark Gorbett say they will either flying or driving Cook back, but they will not reveal how they will transport him for security reasons.
