(AUSTIN) - 44-year-old Anita Eversole, of Austin, was seriously injured after she fell during a hayride Friday night.
Eversole was with a group of about 40 people celebrating her son's birthday when the accident happened.
She was attempting to move from the back end of the pickup truck that was pulling the haywagon, along New Frankfort Road off State Road 256, when she slipped and fell between the pickup truck and the wagon.
At least one of the wagon wheels ran over her. People began screaming and the driver stopped the truck with another wagon wheel resting on top of Eversole.
A nurse was in the group and gave Eversole CPR while others called 911, and the men lifted the wagon off Eversole. She was taken to medical helicopter to University of Louisville. Her injuries include broken ribs, a broken back, sternum and shoulder and punctured lungs.
