(GREENE COUNTY) - Eastern Greene School Building Corporation and Eastern Greene School District have filed a civil suit against a variety of engineers, architects and contractors who built the new high school building.
The $16 million high school, located on State Road 54 near Little Cincinnati, opened in February 2008.
Named as defendants in the three-count suit filed Monday in Greene Circuit Court were: Skillman Development Corporation (Indianapolis), VPS Architecture, P.C. (Evansville), General Interiors, II, Inc. (Spencer), The Krempp Lumber Company (Jasper), and Keusch Glass, Inc. (Jasper).
The suit asks for a trial by jury and alleges breach of contract, breach of warranty and negligence by the defendants.
According to the complaint for damages filed with the court, "The plaintiffs have incurred damages and continue to incur damages as a result of the defendant's negligence."
Each count asks the court to award unspecified costs and compensatory damages as relief.
The school has experienced what it considers to be a variety of construction flaws, according to Eastern Greene School Superintendent Ty Mungle.
