(OWENSBURG) - Indiana State Police are investigating the theft of three guns from a vacant residence near Owensburg.
Indiana State Police Trooper Richard J. Klun says he met with Brad Johnson at his home at 6853 E. State Road 58 on Friday afternoon and was told a 30/30 rifle, a 20 gauge shotgun and a 410 shotgun were stolen.
Johnson does not currently reside at the residence, but he is renovating it.
Johnson told police that he returned to the residence earlier Friday and discovered that drywall he had leaning against a window had been pushed over and that three weapons were missing from the home.
"He is not exactly sure when the weapons were taken as he has been residing in Bloomington since May," Klun wrote in his police report.
Police say whoever took the guns entered the home through a window that did not lock.
