(WASHINGTON) - Joseph E. Choate, of Washington, was arrested after city police received a call at 4:37 p.m. Sunday from a neighbor saying a boy from Coronado Drive asked her to call the police as a man was holding his mother hostage.
A call back said the man had the woman in a car and was headed toward the Northside Drive exit. Officers stopped Choate at Bethel Church and arrested him.
He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and resisting law enforcement by fleeing in a vehicle. He is being held at the Daviess County Security Center on $4,500 bond.
