(PAOLI) - A newly placed marker in the cemetery where Orange County’s first sheriff was buried will be dedicated Saturday as part of this weekend’s Paoli Fall Festival.
The marker for Zachariah Lindley, one of the county's first settlers, is in the Old Paoli Cemetery.
Lindley was the son of Jonathan Lindley, who arrived in the area in 1811, leading the migration of Quakers from Orange County, North Carolina. Lindley was born in 1776 and passed away in 1841, according to Cathy Coulter Qualkinbush, author of the newly published book "A Path Along the Creek".
Following the dedication, Qualkinbush, at 1 p.m. Saturday, will discuss her book, "A Path Along the Creek," at the Paoli Public Library.
