(JACKSON COUNTY) - 41-year-old Earl Gene Root Jr., of Crothersville, was arrested Saturday morning after police found a methamphetamine lab in his bedroom.
Police went to the home to serve a parole warrant on Root.
When police knocked on the door of the home where Root was staying, they smelled a strong chemical odor and asked to search the home, says Jackson County Police Detective Rick Blaker Jr.
Root told police the lab they found in the bedroom was his.
Root was charged with parole violations, and a felony charge of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.
The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab team came and dismantled the lab. Detective Rick Blaker Jr. and county Officer Jesse Hutchinson assisted.
