(WISH) - Indiana State Excise Police Officers cited 57 people on 72 charges during tailgating at Indiana University’s game against Northwestern on Saturday.
Excise Officers also jailed nine people, most for public intoxication and resisting law enforcement.
Two people were hospitalized due to their high intoxication levels.
Indiana State Excise Officers are the enforcement division of the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission. These officers have the authority to enforce any state law, but they focus primarily on enforcing Indiana's Alcohol and Tobacco Statutes.
