(UNDATED) - Slow down and pay attention. That’s the advice from Indiana Department of Transportation and the Indiana State Police of the new exit ramp from southbound Interstate 65 onto Indiana 11 at Little Acres.
"They need to slow down," Master Trooper Kevin Riordan of the Indiana State Police said Thursday. "It's a change after all these years that people need to become familiar with."
Riordan responded to a report of a property damage wreck at the junction around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
"She hit a couple of signs and caused a little property damage to her van," Riordan said. "She wasn't hurt and was able to drive off."
The van did not drive down the adjacent embankment.
Greg Prince of Seymour's INDOT office echoed Riordan's advice.
"We've had some folks out there where it looks like drivers who were used to the ramp being one way leaving the road as they went through that new configuration," he said Thursday morning.
Indiana 11 and its I-65 ramps were reopened Wednesday after being resurfaced. The southtbound exit was also reshaped, with safety in mind, Prince said.
