(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University students are still grieving the loss of a student killed in an apartment fire early Saturday morning.
It's a lot for students to handle, just days after a student's suicide and as the search for Lauren Spierer continues.
The Terra Trace Apartments are now boarded up after the devastating fire that killed 19-year-old freshman Renee Ohrn. The Gary native was staying at a friend's apartment when fire spread through the building.
The fire is the latest in a series of tragedies at IU. The disappearance of Spierer in June continues to be on the minds of students and last week, a student committed suicide in his dorm room.
Students say there is still a lot of talk about Spierer. Some have even made an effort to be better prepared on campus.
Another student says the incidents are devastating, Some female students have started carrying pepper spray and taking self-defense classes.
There is still no word on what caused Saturday's fire in Bloomington.
