(BEDFORD) - A benefit auction will be held on Saturday for Mark Starr, the LEAP teacher at Bedford North Lawrence and former basketball coach at Bedford Middle School.
After two years on dialysis, Starr received a new kidney Tuesday from his brother Micha at an Indianapolis hospital.
The benefit auction and chili supper for the Starr family will be held at the Limestone Girls Club, on 19th Street in Bedford, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
About 70 items were donated including signed sports memorabilia, quilts, gift cards, sports tickets and much more.
Live music will be preformed by JoAnna and Ed Cobb and there will be activities for children.
Proceeds from the auction will help with medical bills and expenses incurred traveling back and forth to Indianapolis.
