(BEDFORD) - A new organization in Bedford called Neighbors in Need will begin to help people who have found themselves in a tight spot because of the financial hardships associated with illness or other unexpected circumstances.
Their first fundraiser is called Fight For Fender. 38-year-old Tonya Fender was diagnosis with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia on Sept. 23 and is undergoing chemotherapy.
She is awaiting a donor for a bone marrow transplant.
The event is Saturday at the Bedford Eagles Lodge. It will include music by Rock Hounds, Ugly Early, Limited Slip, Compass Rose, Point08, and Music by Erin. Games, prizes and food will be offered. Seating is limited. Advance tickets are $5 each at Power Source, Wags & Whiskers or by calling Eddie McLain 278-1317 or Rhonda Terrell at 797-3767.
To make financial donations, call the same numbers or make a deposit in an account that has been established for Fender at Hoosier Hills Credit Union.
One hundred percent of the money goes to Fender. The money raised will be used to help with medical bills and daily expenses.
