(COLUMBUS) - A Brown County judge has agreed to hear the dispute over the site plan for a proposed downtown outdoor sports complex after a Columbus judge recused himself.
Brown Circuit Court Judge Judith Stewart assumed jurisdiction Nov. 2 in the action filed by Griffin Industries Inc. against the Columbus Plan Commission.
Stewart took over the case after Bartholomew Superior Court 1 Judge Chris Monroe recused himself. Monroe left the case for reasons he said included receiving more contact outside court about the issue than in any other case during his 23 years on the bench.
