(MITCHELL) - Two people were injured when their pickup trucks collided on Ind. 60 West Thursday afternoon.
Ethan Reynolds, of Mitchell, says he was west on Ind. 60 and saw his cousin Tanner Ray, of Mitchell, traveling the opposite direction and waved to him.
That is when Ray's 1995 Ford F-250 started coming into his lane. Reynolds tried to avoid the accident but was unable to. The two trucks collided. Reynolds 2004 Nissan rolled several times landing on it top in a grassy areas several feet from the roadway.
Ray told Lawrence County police he was attempting to wave to his cousin when a piece of wood in the bed of the truck broke through the back windshield and hit him in the head, causing him to drive left of center and collide with his cousin's Nissan.
Both men suffered head injuries and were taken to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital for treatment.
