(MITCHELL) - The intersection at Ind. 60 east and Ind. 37 is by far the most dangerous according to Mitchell Police Chief Jerry Presnell.
There has been at least 21 accidents there this year and the intersection needs evaluated, according to Presnell.
That number does not include accidents that the Indiana State Police have investigated. The only traffic device at the crossroads is a stop sign and caution light.
The entrances to McDonalds and Wendy's have complicated the situation. On Nov. 11, five people were seriously injured in a three-car accident at that intersection.
Presnell says there are at least two accidents at the intersection a month and the numbers are getting worse.
INDOT Spokeswoman Cher Elliott says they have not received any complaints about the intersection. But she will check into the crash analysis information an see if a full investigation is needed.
