(FRENCH LICK) - French Lick Resort is getting ready for the 2011 Holiday.
Decorations are being placed - some traditional favorites and some new - like years past, a half a million twinkling lights will illuminate the turn-of-the-century hotels and grounds.
More than 30 Christmas trees, including the 40-foot show piece in the West Baden Springs Hotel atrium and the vintage toy-themed tree located in front of the French Lick Springs Hotel, will be on display.
The resort has added Victorian scenes this year. The scenes have been crafted by in-house by carpenters Dan Ping and John Conrad.
For the last four years, a gingerbread house the size of a large dollhouse has been erected as part of the vast holiday decor at French Lick Resort. A team of bakers and decorators lead by Chef Robbie Bellew begins creating the concept of the structure in early November and the actual house takes three weeks to complete.
Guests can view the finished product in the Events Center at the French Lick Springs Hotel.
The French Lick Springs Hotel Tree Lighting Ceremony will be Friday Nov. 18th at 7 p.m. with caroling and fireworks as the tree on the front law is lit for the season.
