(ORLEANS) - John Tarr, of Orleans, was presented the Golden Hoosier Award. He was recognized at a ceremony at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman and Indiana Family and Social Services Administration Secretary Michael Gargano presented the award.
Tarr was among 24 Hoosier senior winners. He received the award for his community and state service. He serves on the Indiana State Fair board of directors, representing 21 counties across southwestern Indiana and attends all of their county fairs. He is also dedicates his time to several organizations and helping his Amish neighbors.
