(BLOOMINGTON) - Police arrested a Bloomington man on preliminary charges of child molesting Saturday morning.
43-year-old Tommy Joe Grubb told police he might have drunkenly mistaken a girl under the age of 10 for his adult girlfriend, but denied sexual involvement.
The Department of Children's Services notified Bloomington Police Wednesday that a girl had been molested. After interviewing and forensically examining the girl at Susie's Place, a child advocacy center, police obtained a warrant to search Grubb's southside apartment Saturday.
Grubb was arrested and taken to the Monroe County Jail and is being held on a $100,000 cash bond.
