(LINTON) - 32-year-old David A. Carrell is facing charges of battery with bodily injury to a minor after he pointed a unloaded shotgun at a 13-year-old boy.
Carrell, who now lives in Rockville, was arrested Tuesday. He was released from the Greene County Jail after posting bond.
According to police, on Oct. 20, Carrell is accused of making a derogatory remark to the boy and then pointing a unloaded shotgun at the boy after he replied with a remark about Carrell. Carrell then grabbed the boy's mother and pushed her to the floor and then got on top of her.
In retaliation, the boy jumped on Carrell's back. Carrell then got on top of the boy and attempted to strangle him. The boy had red scratches on his collarbone and on the front of his lower neck and upper chest area. The right side of the boy's neck was also red, according to police.
