Pastor Wants Answers After Man Injured During Arrest

Last updated on Wednesday, November 30, 2011

(SEYMOUR) - A Seymour pastor wants answers on how an African-American man sustained injuries to his eye after being arrested by Seymour Police last week.

Rev. Ron L Norris of Bethel AME Church is inviting Seymour Police Chief Bill Abbott and Seymour Mayor Craig Leudeman to talk about the conduct of officers during the 63-year-old Robert Edmonds' arrest on last Monday.

The officer who tried to take Edmonds into custody said he was becoming combative and sustained the injured after being pushed into a car door. The meeting takes place Wednesday at 6p.m. on 200 S. Lynn Street.
