(BLOOMFIELD) - James Kingsley III, of Bloomfield, is facing charges of strangulation and domestic battery following a dispute with his wife Dec. 10.
Police said Kingsley allegedly hit his wife, Jennifer Kingsley, in a vehicle. An arrest warrant was issued Friday.
Jennifer told police the couple had been at her husband's employee Christmas party and he became intoxicated. As Jennifer was driving the couple home, James allegedly punched her in the face several times, causing a black eye and swollen lip. Jennifer told police she pulled to the side of the road on Spring Street and started yelling for help and honking the horn.
When she tried to exit the vehicle, James grabbed her around the throat and choked her, causing her to almost pass out. She told police she apologized to her husband and continued to drive home. James allegedly had his hands around Jennifer's neck until they got home.
