(BLOOMFIELD) - A rural Bloomfield woman has been charged in Greene Circuit Court with theft and a drug-related charge.
A bench warrant was issued Wednesday for the arrest of 40-year-old Julie Clark-Johnson on charges of theft and possession of marijuana.
Clark-Johnson allegedly stole a cellular phone, a battery starter, a jig saw, a socket set and DVDs from the home of Jewell and Glenda Stone, according to a probable cause affidavit filed by Bloomfield Deputy Town Marshal Harvey Holt.
Initially, Clark-Johnson told police that she purchased the cell phone from Glenda Stone for $75. Later, she told officer Holt that she had traded marijuana for the phone.
The Stones were able to positively identify items confiscated by police from Clark-Johnson as items that had been stolen from their residence in September.
When Clark-Johnson was first confronted (on Sept. 23) about the alleged thefts by Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy James O'Malley, she was found to be in possession of a package of rolling papers and a green plant material that was identified as marijuana, which resulted in the drug charge.
