(UNDATED) - Seven Indiana mail processing centers slated for closure will remain open - for now.
The United States Postal Service says it's giving congress more time to pass legislation that would give it more options to stave off bankruptcy. That means some 252 mail processing centers and 3700 post offices will hang around until at least mid-may.
In Indiana, that includes 80 postal branches and mail processing centers in Gary, South Bend, Bloomington, Terre Haute, Muncie, Kokomo and Lafayette.
Dando says the postal service is also holding off on the suspension of Saturday mail delivery while Congress works on other possible solutions.
