(LITTLE YORK) - Josirah and Pauline Combest, of Butlerville, are both in good health after being stranded in flood water Wednesday afternoon.
Jorirah is 75 years old and Pauline is 74 years-old.
Indiana Conservation Officers received a call that a s-10 pick-up truck was stalled in floodwater on State Road 39 North of Little York in Washington County.
Several Conservation officers responded to the area. When officers arrived the water was approaching the bottom of the trucks window.
The truck had floated approximately 400 yards out into the water.
According to Pearcy he was able to put a life vest and waders on and wade to the stranded vehicle. Pearcy was able to get both of the individuals to put on a life vest.
Damon Fleenor, a Gibson Township Volunteer firefighter, who lived in the area, brought his aluminum Jon boat to the scene. Volunteers were able to get the boat to the stranded truck and safely transport the Combest to safety.
The two were transported to Scott Memorial Hospital where they were treated for possible hypothermia and released.
