(BEDFORD) - A federal mediator met with managers and striking workers of Indiana Limestone Co. Friday.
No agreement was reached during the morning session in Bedford. The two sides did agree to talk again.
Millworkers Local 8093 union members have been on strike since Nov. 16 at the Indiana Limestone Co. plant in Oolitic. They say wages are not at issue. But they have objected to proposed contract changes that would affect seniority rights, sick days, time off, tardy rules and pension plans.
The strike effects 50 members of the millworkers' union and about 20 members of the stonecutters' union and about three members of a mechanics' union have been idle because they are honoring the millworkers' picket line.
A rally for striking workers was held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lawrence County Courthouse square in downtown Bedford. More than 100 people attended.
