(COLUMBUS) - Columbus and other areas have seen an increase in crime, including theft.
But city officials have recently discovered a new item targeted by thieves. Columbus City Utilities Director Keith Reeves says so far, eight manhole covers have been stolen from city roads.
Reeves says these covers are often taken from areas with little traffic, or partially hidden by fields.
There have been no reports of damage or injury.
