(BEDFORD) - A Loogootee man was injured after he crashed his car on U.S. 50 West near Kozy Fireplace Road Monday night.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 19-year-old Gage Mattingly was traveling west on U.S. 50 West and was lost. He looked down at an electronic device to find his location and that is when his 2003 Pontiac GPG went off the left side of the road and hit an embankment.
Mattingly complained of back pain, but refused medical treatment at the scene.
16th Street Accident Report
On Friday afternoon, 49-year old Steven Lokey, of Vallonia, suffered a head injury in a three-vehicle chain-reaction collision on 16th Street.
According to a Bedford Police Department report, Lokey was driving a 2004 Ford Explorer west on 16th Street near Plaza Drive at 2:25 p.m. He told police he was stopped in traffic.
63-year old Billy W. Marcott, of Vallonia, was driving a 2010 Dodge Caravan and was stopped behind the Explorer.
Police said a third vehicle, a 1996 Ford Taurus driven by 32-year-old Matthew York, of Bloomington, was following the Caravan. York told police he looked down for a second and when he looked back up traffic was stopped. His Taurus hit the Caravan, which in turn hit the Explorer.
John Williams Blvd. Accident Report
In another accident on Friday, 21-year-old Jonathan Patton, of Norman, was injured when two cars collided at the intersection of John Williams Boulevard and X Street, Friday.
According to a Bedford Police Department report, 68-year-old Linda K. Maudlin, of Monticello, was driving a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country van west on John Williams Boulevard. The van was stopped, as Maudlin was waiting for oncoming traffic to pass so she could turn left from John Williams Boulevard onto X Street.
Patton was driving a 1993 Ford Ranger behind Maudlin. Patton told police he did not see the van stopped until it was too late and the Ranger struck the van from behind.
Patton suffered a minor head injury during the collision.
