(BROWNSTOWN) - Two Norman teens are in jail after attempting to steal stereo equipment at Village Apartments in Brownstown.
Brownstown Police officers responded to a report of a woman yelling for someone to call the police at Village Apartments in the 700 block of Bloomington Road, according to a police news release.
When police arrived they learned that two men kicked in the door, forced their way into a woman's apartment and demanded stereo equipment, the press release stated. The woman told officers that the males left when she yelled out for help.
The woman and other witnesses described the vehicle the two men left in and identified them as Caleb Scott Silvers, 19; and his brother, Cody M. Silvers, 19; both of Norman; the press release stated.
Officers later located the vehicle parked at the Jackson-Jennings Co-Op in Brownstown.
The Silvers brothers were later located with two other people during a traffic stop made by Jackson County Sheriff's officers on U.S. 50 near Wray's Church Road in the western part of the county.
The brothers were arrested and face charges of attempted burglary, residential entry and battery with injury. Both are being held at the Jackson County Jail on $10,000 bond each.
The other two individuals who were with them at the time of their arrest were released at the scene.
More arrests are possible, police said.
Investigating officer is J.D. Woods of the Brownstown Police Department. Assisting at the scene were officers Tom Wright and Tom Hanner with Brownstown Police and officers Dustin Steward and Brad Barker with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
