(WASHINGTON COUNTY) - A lengthy investigation for a person who reportedly entered a home early Thursday morning has turned up nothing.
Washington County Sheriff Claude Combs said a resident at 7345 E. Bethel Rd. called 911 to report a home invasion. The call was received at 8:52 a.m.
The sheriff's department initially responded and the search turned into a multi-department effort. The Indiana State Police and city K-9 unit were also involved.
The search lasted several hours and involved a large area surrounding the residence.
Combs said no evidence of anyone who committed the alleged crime was found. The search was discontinued early in the afternoon.
He said the investigation is continuing.
