(BEDFORD) - Bedford Fire Department investigators are waiting on lab test results from samples taken from a home that firefighters believe was arson.
BFD Investigator David Wright said that he, a State Fire Marshal's official and an insurance adjustor have been to the 1315 21st St. home this week for follow up investigation.
Bedford Fire Department Chief Jon Wagner said he believes the fire was started intentionally, but the department is waiting on the results testing for flammable liquids from items at the scene are returned. State Fire Marshal officials said it could be weeks before the results are complete.
No one was living at the home when the fire started. The home is owned by Bonnie Freeman and she has been cooperating with investigators.
The fire caused substantial damage to the home that was all ready in disrepair, according to Wagner.
