(BEDFORD) - 28-year-old Randall Jamison is facing additional charges after Bedford Police say Tuesday’s burglary attempt was the second time he broke into the Lincoln Plaza Pharmacy.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley says Jamison also broke into the pharmacy on Dec. 11 and stole prescription drugs. Jamison fled the store before police arrived.
His last attempt was foiled by police Tuesday night. The store alarm sounded and police were able to arrive before Jamison could get out of the store. Police found Jamison attempting to break the front door. He had a sack full of prescription medications in his hands when police ordered him to get on the ground.
While Parsley didn't have a precise inventory of what was in the bag, the chief said Jamison had grabbed as many prepared prescriptions as he could in a short time.
Parsley says in both break-ins, Jamison entered the pharmacy through the roof. In the first burglary he was able to escape after he broke the front door. In Tuesday's attempt police arrived before he could get out the door.
Jamison is charged with burglary, attempted theft and criminal mischief as a result of Tuesday night's break-in. He is being held at the Lawrence County jail on $20,000 cash bond or $15,000 surety.
Parsley said he expects the charges to be amended to include the first break-in.
