(LINTON) - A blood drive will be held Jan. 18 at Vince Felton State Farm Agency in Linton, located at 1220 NE A Street, from noon to 4 p.m.
The Indiana Blood Center bloodmobile will be set up in the parking lot of the business.
The dedicated blood drive is being held in honor of the business' main agent, Vince "Chip" Felton, who was recently diagnosed with mesothelioma.
The cancer is in the mesothelium, which is the protective membrane that lines most of a person's internal organs. The malignant cells can invade and damage nearby tissues or spread to other parts of the body. Treatment can range from surgeries to chemotherapy treatments, depending on the stage of the cancer.
The donations will remain in the area.
To sign up to register, visit www.donorpoint.org or www.indianablood.org. Search for the drive with area code 47441. Potential donors can also call the office at 847-2249 to be put on the schedule.
