(BLOOMFIELD) - A warrant has been issued for 30-year-old Michael Reed, of Bloomfield. He is charged with the battery of a 12 year-old boy.
Police began their investigation after they were notified by the Greene County Hospital emergency room after they treated the boy on Dec. 17th.
The boy suffered red marks and bruises on his shoulder and ribs. The boy's mother said she didn't report the injuries right away because she didn't want Reed to get in trouble.
Reed, during an interview with police on Dec. 17th, told them he was disciplining the boy, who had been unruly that evening. Reed told police the battery took place after the boy had hit Reed in the testicles and he reacted by pushing the boy to the floor.
