(LINTON) - 33-year-old Shane Barnes, of Linton, was arrested Saturday after he went to the home of Brian Callahan around 9:25 a.m. to collect a $150 debt he claims Callahan owed him.
When Barnes knocked on the door, Callahan allegedly told him to leave. But before he left he went into Callahan's garage and took a sawsall he had sold Callahan about a week earlier for $40.
Callahan told police he fired a single shot from a rifle to try and scare Barnes off. After the shot was fired, Barnes walked to his truck, grabbed a wooden stick or a piece of a lamp post and came after Callahan.
Callahan threw down his rifle and went toward Barnes, who then hit him in the head. The two then got into a fist fight. Barnes then left and Callahan called police.
Barnes was found a short time later and arrested. He is facing charges of burglary, attempted theft and battery resulting in bodily injury.
