(PAOLI) - Lost River Market and Deli announced the opening of a new exhibit in January — books and posters by Marilyn Anderson of Bedford.
Anderson will be at Lost River Market and Deli Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. for a free reading and book signing open to the public.
Anderson writes nonfiction for children and adults, also while teaching writing for the Institute of Children's Literature in West Redding, Conn.
She lives on a nine-acre farm with her husband, a land surveyor, where they spend much of their time with unofficial grandsons from Armenia - Grigor and Gabriel.
Anderson said as a child she "spent so much time alone that I started making up stories and thinking about being an author when I grew up. Of course, I thought about becoming lots of other things, too, like a jockey, an opera singer, a cowgirl, a spy, a movie star, etc. etc. etc."
She spent part of her life teaching bands, choirs, orchestras, elementary music and piano in Minnesota, Vermont and Indiana. Her favorite part of her musical experience was leading her 100-plus member marching band in parades.
Many of her publications are available on Kindle or Smashwords. Check her website at www.marilynanderson.com for availability or look for them on an electronic book buying/reading device.
An area in the front near the office and a wall area outside the deli have become the Co-op Local Art exhibit areas. To exhibiting work in the Co-op Art Corner, contact Debbie Turner (debbie.lostrivercoop@gmail.com), Randy Young (randy.lostrivercoop@gmail.com), or call (812) 723-3735.
