(MONROE COUNTY) - A seven year old boy reported missing was the subject of an extensive search on the ground and from the air using infrared technology.
The boy was located by ground search crews around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the area of the Brown/Monroe County line near State Road 45 and State Road 46, according to Indiana State Police who assisted with the search.
Police say the boy left home after an argument with his father. The boy took off through the woods behind their home. Police described the area as very heavily wooded and dark with lots of hills.
The search involved nearly 80 people on foot and search dogs along with a helicopter for six hours.
The boy was found about 45 minutes away from his house sitting next to a tree in the woods.
Medical personnel checked the boy out and then released to his parents.
