(BLOOMFIELD) - Starting Jan. 1, patients at Greene County General Hospital in Linton will need to provide a photo identification card when registering for any kind of services or when requesting medical record information.
Cathy Hadley, Greene County Hospital's Director of Health Information Management said they are just making sure they are dealing with the right person and protecting patient information. The new policy is primarily aimed at curbing identity and insurance fraud.
No patients would be turned away who are in need of emergency medical care, but for other hospital-related services the positive photo identification would be required at the time of registration.
Anyone with questions about the policy should contact Hadley by calling 847-5216.
